#21 - I have good pace but when I concentrate on line and length, my pace decreases. Why?

QUESTION FROM SIVA

I have good pace but when I concentrate on line and length, my pace decreases. Why?

ANSWER

Hey Siva,

It’s normal to notice a slight drop in your pace when you’re heavily focused on where to put the ball. I’d say that this is a case of inexperience more than anything else. The more comfortable you become with your action and the more you understand the timing of it – you’ll be able to bowl with full intensity and land the ball in and around your target area.

My advice to you would be to bowl more and develop that innate understanding of your action. You’ll reach a stage where things just happen naturally for you!

All the best.
