In this episode, we speak to Richard Stonier, Strength & Conditioning coach of Pakistani First Class cricket team, Sui Gas. PSL franchise, Lahore Qalandars and currently, the Bangladesh National Team. Richard describes the challenges he faced whilst working in the subcontinent. He also shares his observation on the generic training philosophy of Pakistani fast bowlers as well as touching on what they can do to improve through physical training. He describes a routine which he calls ‘pre-activation’ which he uses on the evening before or the morning of a game to “fire up the muscles”. We close the show by discussing his experience working with Shaheen Shah Afridi and Salman Irshad in the PSL and his views on their future and potential.
The three philosophies that I work off is the prevention, the performance and the recovery.
